Yankees hold off Tigers, win back-to-back games for first time in four weeks

The New York Yankees (64-68) held off the Detroit Tigers (59-73), 4-2, on Tuesday night at Comerica Park and have won back-to-back games for the first time since August 2-3.

Gleyber Torres, Kyle Higashioka, and Anthony Volpe all homered, while Aaron Judge scored on a passed ball. 

Michael King fired four shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out five. Jhony Brito (3.1 IP) and Wandy Peralta (0.2 IP) posted scoreless outings while Clay Holmes (1.0 IP) allowed both runs.

The Yankees will try to take the first three games of this four-game series on Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. with Gerrit Cole on the hill. It would be New York’s first series win since July 21-23.
