Lobbyists in NY spent record-breaking $331M in 2022, per report

The Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG) revealed on Monday that lobbying expenditures in New York soared to an all-time high of $331 million in 2022, marking a 13.2% increase from the previous year.

The leading contributors to this unprecedented figure included the 1199SEIU Labor Management Initiatives, Inc. Healthcare Education Project with $5.7 million and the Greater New York Hospital Association, Indc. which spent $3.5 million.

In a year of robust lobbying activity, more than 84,000 state officials and employees underwent live or online ethics training.

Experts say the report illuminates the entities and individuals lobbying state and local policymakers.
