Cayuga Nation partners with Ludovico Sculpture Trail in Seneca Falls to make major improvements

The Cayuga Nation has teamed up with the Ludovico Sculpture Trail in a bid to bolster the beauty of Seneca Falls and strengthen community ties. The collaboration will witness the Cayuga Nation financing tree trimming along the trail, a key maintenance effort that ensures visitor safety and preserves the trail’s aesthetic appeal.

Rooted deeply in Seneca Falls history, the Cayuga Nation’s move is seen as a step forward in fostering a deeper relationship with the local community and emphasizing their commitment to environmental conservation. Beyond the tree trimming, the nation has unveiled plans to add new sculptures to the trail that showcase the rich history and heritage of the Cayuga Nation in the Seneca Falls area.

Clint Halftown, the Federal Representative for the Cayuga Nation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “Our work with the Ludovico Sculpture Trail is an endeavor to highlight the natural allure of the trail, fortify our bond with Seneca Falls, and narrate the Gayogohó:nǫ˺ history through artistic representations,” Halftown said.

This alliance between the Cayuga Nation and the Ludovico Sculpture Trail stands as a testament to their joint commitment to enriching the local environment and paying tribute to the cultural essence of the region.
