Mets comeback falls short in fourth straight loss

The New York Mets (59-71) suffered a fourth straight loss Saturday night at Citi Field after falling 5-3 to the Los Angeles Angels (63-67).

Box Score

Carlos Carrasco’s struggles on the mound continued, and the Mets fell into an early 5-0 hole that they could not climb out of despite a strong effort.

Daniel Vogelbach crushed his 12th home run of the season, while DJ Stewart added a run-scoring double.

The Mets will try to avoid the three-game sweep on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. with David Peterson on the hill.
