Leadership turnover prompts task force assessment of Cayuga County’s economic development agency

  • Staff Report

Following its second executive director exit in just over a year, the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) board has initiated a task force to evaluate the organization’s current position and efficacy in the community’s economic growth strategies.

The announcement emphasized the board’s understanding of community concerns and highlighted the task force’s objective to reexamine CEDA’s mission, status, brand, and overall value.

The five-member task force comprises Auburn City Manager Jeff Dygert, Jennifer Haines, director of planning and economic development for Auburn, Steve Lynch, the county’s director of planning and economic development, McNabb-Coleman, and Ryan Pine from CEDA’s board, according to reporting by The Citizen.

The task force is scheduled for its inaugural meeting next week, with McNabb-Coleman set to share insights in September at the county Legislature’s Planning and Economic Development Committee gathering.
