Cayuga County’s Water and Sewer Authority is set to receive $605,385 as part of a historic funding package from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC).
The Citizen reported the record funding, which was secured under the 2021 federal infrastructure law.
It will support the installation of over 5,000 feet of water line at the county industrial park, enhancing capacity by a significant 1 million gallons per day.
This boost in water capacity is essential for the primary tenant of the park, Cayuga Milk Ingredients, which has embarked on a $170 million expansion.
The milk plant has emphasized the need for improved infrastructure since its opening in 2014 due to capacity constraints.
