Cars stolen, driven through front of dealership in Syracuse-area (video)

In a series of audacious burglaries, suspects smashed their way into Driver’s Village in Cicero early Tuesday morning, stealing vehicles and driving them straight through the showroom’s front doors.

Police described the scene as chaotic, with “utter carnage” and damages estimated in the hundreds of thousands. The criminals stole two vehicles from Burdick Dodge and another from Burdick Lexus.

Thanks to tracking technology, all three vehicles were swiftly located on the city’s northside. While this kind of brazen crime is becoming increasingly common, especially involving juveniles, police say that these actions don’t fit the typical operation of an organized crime ring.

The spree didn’t end in Cicero, though.

Later that morning, Jack McNerney Chevrolet in Tully reported a burglary where two vehicles were stolen after a suspicious activity report around 6 a.m.

While state troopers managed to halt one of the stolen cars, the second led them on an eight-mile chase before crashing in Syracuse.

The suspects fled the scene and remain at large. Local law enforcement agencies, including the Syracuse Police Department and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, are collaboratively investigating these incidents.
