An intense standoff in Bath involving multiple police agencies concluded early Monday morning with the subject taken into custody.
The situation, centered around the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and East Morris Street, saw eyewitnesses reporting sounds of gunshots, likened to fireworks, earlier in the night.
State troopers and other law enforcement officials, including the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, were on site. Specialized equipment such as drones, up-armored tactical vehicles, and officers in tactical gear were visible.
The New York State Police took measures to ensure public safety, evacuating residents in the immediate vicinity.
