Wegmans, the supermarket chain, has alerted its customers to a potential issue involving double charges on credit card transactions made on August 16.
The alert covers both in-store and online credit card purchases; however, it does not affect those who made payments using debit cards or EBT.
In a statement, Wegmans acknowledged the inadvertent double charging and confirmed they are collaborating with their payment processor to address and reverse these erroneous charges. Affected customers can expect to see corrections in the coming days, depending on their respective banks or card issuers.
