In a bid to aid former homeowners, the Schuyler County Legislature has approved a decision enabling individuals to repurchase their foreclosed properties ahead of the scheduled auction on October 2.
The move, endorsed on August 14, provides those who lost their properties to foreclosure earlier this year until September 18 to present offers.
Interested former owners must relay their proposals to the Schuyler County Treasurer’s Office, inclusive of full payment for back taxes, penalties, interest, and other associated county costs.
Upon acceptance, a deed will be prepared by the County’s Attorney to reinstate property ownership to the original holder.
