Allens Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield, once overrun with weeds, fallen trees, and damaged headstones, has been restored following a report by News10NBC spotlighting its dilapidated state.
Ron Griswold, who originally captured the cemetery’s neglected state on video, had family members, including his parents and a Revolutionary War hero recognized by General George Washington, buried there.
Managed by the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester, the cemetery received immediate attention after the Diocese received word of the media attention.
Griswold recently shared an updated video of the cemetery, revealing a well-maintained site with mowed grass and cleared debris.
