Victor-based neuroscience tech firm, Cognivue, has teamed up with the Kutcher Clinic for Sports Neurology in Michigan to embark on a groundbreaking study focusing on concussion identification and treatment methodologies.
The study will largely be carried out in the Detroit region, utilizing Cognivue Clarity technology to evaluate its performance in detecting definitive and probable concussions. This FDA-approved technology by Cognivue offers computerized tools geared towards spotting early indications of cognitive deterioration.
Throughout a span of two years, the study will monitor 90 adults diagnosed with definitive or probable concussions. The participants will undergo assessments within 48 hours post-impact, followed by check-ins at seven days and again at six months. A separate group of 30 individuals without concussions will act as a benchmark. Tom O’Neill, CEO of Cognivue, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about the initiative, emphasizing their commitment to fortify clinician trust in Cognivue’s technological contributions to diagnostic processes.
