  • Staff Report

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported a vehicular accident involving injuries at the crossroads of Fisher Road and State Route 104 in Ontario.

Robert Rabideau, 73, from Ft. Myers, Florida, allegedly neglected to yield while moving north on Fisher Road, entering the intersection and inadvertently colliding with an eastbound car driven by Angel Gabriel, 37, of Williamson. The impact caused Rabideau’s car to flip onto its side, with both vehicles eventually halting in the center median of State Route 104.

Rabideau had two passengers: Judith Harding, 59, of Palmyra, declined medical attention, while Karen Cabic, 76, was taken to Rochester General Hospital with minor injuries. Gabriel’s vehicle was carrying three passengers. Both Angel Gabriel and her front-seat passenger, Frank Gabriel, 39, were also transported to Rochester General Hospital for minor injuries. Two young children, ages 5 and 6, were assessed on-site by emergency medical teams and were subsequently released. Rabideau received a citation for failing to yield.

Emergency response included Ontario Ambulance, Williamson Ambulance, Wayne County ALS, and the Ontario Fire Department.
