State police have provided an update on the crash that left an SUV in the Cayuga-Seneca Canal after crashing on State Route 96A in Waterloo.
On Sunday around 2:48 p.m. troopers responded to a property damage accident there, where they found an SUV partially submerged in the canal.
No injuries were reported.
However, the driver, identified as 25-year-old Frederick Holmes, of Waterloo, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
