Seneca Falls man in custody after pursuit: Found hiding in wooded area

On August 12 police arrested 27-year-old Todd S. Murphy following a vehicle chase that spanned through the town.

Murphy, a resident of Seneca Falls, evaded authorities by abandoning his car and hiding in a wooded area behind a residence. He was taken into custody an hour later without further altercations.

Charges against Murphy include resisting arrest and third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, atop previous warrants from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

The arrest operation saw support from the Village of Waterloo Police Department, New York State Police, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, and North Seneca Ambulance.

Murphy awaits arraignment at the Seneca County Correctional Facility.
