The iconic Main Street School on 206 W. Main St., which served the Seneca County community for 86 years, has completed its transition into LaFayette Apartments.
The Finger Lakes Times reports Two by Four Construction of East Syracuse is now accepting rental applications for the building’s 35 units, prioritizing applicants 62 and older who earn at or below 60% of the area’s median income.
An open house, allowing potential renters a peek into the renovated space, is scheduled for Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The school auditorium, retained in its original design, is set to become the primary performance venue for Seneca Community Players.
The $13.5 million project preserved the structure’s historical integrity while introducing modern amenities like Energy Star appliances, EV charging stations, and community rooms with free WiFi.
