UPDATE: Two in custody after pursuit from Wayne County into Auburn wanted on multiple felony charges

A vehicle pursuit initiated by the New York State Police (NYSP) in Wayne County led the Auburn Police Department on a dangerous chase around 11 a.m. Friday, August 11.

The vehicle, driven by Kevin Huntington Jr. of Red Creek, NY, with a 17-year-old passenger, had been reported stolen from Auburn. Both are believed to be linked to multiple felony offenses across Wayne and Cayuga Counties, and Auburn.

The chase intensified as Huntington Jr. repeatedly swerved at Auburn Police officers before eventually crashing the vehicle. Following a brief on-foot pursuit, both suspects were apprehended.

While no serious injuries were reported, Huntington Jr. faces several charges, including attempted aggravated assault on a police officer.

The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office has recommended he be held at the Cayuga County Jail. Meanwhile, the juvenile has been detained at the Oneida County Jail on an unrelated probation warrant.

Both are facing further criminal charges, with Huntington Jr. also wanted in Wayne County for probation violations and the juvenile sought in Genesee County for a Family Court violation.
