Steuben woman faces grand larceny charges for unauthorized card use

Steuben County authorities have arrested Laurel E. Carpenter, 40, of Painted Post, on August 10 for allegedly misusing another individual’s bank card.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office alleges that Carpenter made unauthorized transactions totaling over $3,000 in the Town of Erwin, leading to charges of grand larceny.

Following her arrest, Carpenter was arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Court and is currently held at the Steuben County Jail with a cash bail set at $1,000.

The Corning City Police Department played a crucial role in facilitating this arrest, earning acknowledgment from Sheriff Jim Allard.
