The iconic Hunter Dinerant, located at 18 Genesee St. in Auburn, has officially transitioned into the ownership of the city.

The diner, valued at $145,938 in 2023, was handed over by its previous proprietors, Rachael and Bill Juhl, to the city at no cost in May, according to The Citizen.

The Juhls, who acquired the establishment in 2011, ran the diner almost continuously until its closure on December 31, 2022.

The future plans for this Auburn landmark remain uncertain, with city officials refraining from commenting on the acquisition.
