Governor Kathy Hochul expressed frustration over the federal government’s prolonged silence on New York’s urgent request for work permits for migrants.
At an Albany event, where plans for regional airport facilities were unveiled, Hochul spotlighted the pressing migrant issue. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has commenced evaluations in New York City, with many migrants lacking shelter.
Despite continual talks with the White House, Hochul has yet to secure a firm commitment on her 13-month plea to grant working permits for these individuals.
