Clyde man jailed, faces three felony charges plus others after Seneca Falls incident

The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department announced the arrest of Wayne A. Purnell Jr., 26, of Clyde on August 10 following an arrest warrant issued by the Seneca Falls Town Court.

The warrant relates to a domestic altercation that transpired on June 21, where Purnell allegedly displayed physical aggression towards his wife. Notably, he’s accused of strangulating her and forcibly confiscating and damaging her phone, all in the presence of a minor.

Purnell faces multiple charges: Robbery in the third degree, Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, and Aggravated family offense, all categorized as felonies. He’s also charged with misdemeanors including Endangering the welfare of a child, Criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and Criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, as well as a violation for Harassment in the second degree.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, Purnell was arrested on a bench warrant by the Seneca Falls Police on the same day. This warrant was initiated after Purnell neglected to attend his scheduled court appearance on July 6 for sentencing. He is currently detained at the Seneca County Correctional Facility, pending arraignment.
