The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Laura S. Wells, 55, of Newark, on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a BAC of .08% or more.
The arrest came after a concerned citizen reported seeing an apparently intoxicated Wells attempting to enter a vehicle.
A subsequent investigation confirmed her intoxicated state, and a chemical test at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office revealed a BAC of .17%, more than double the legal limit.
Wells has been released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to face her charges in the Town of Lyons Court on September 19.
