During the early-morning hours of August 5 deputies responded to a property damage crash in the town of Tyre, near Durling Road.

Upon arriving at approximately 3:30 a.m., deputies found tire tracks leading into a cornfield, though initially, they couldn’t locate a vehicle.

However, while on the scene, a truck driven by 40-year-old Nicolas J. Blevins of Seneca Falls emerged from the field and subsequently crashed into a ditch.

Blevins was arrested on suspicion of DWI and was charged wit felony DWI, open container, failure to maintain lane, and speed not reasonable.

He was transported to the Seneca County correctional facility to await arraignment at 8 a.m.

Assisting the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office in the incident were the New York State Police, North Seneca Ambulance, and Clyde Fire Department.
