The New York Yankees (58-54) were unable to take three of four from the Houston Astros (64-49) as they fell 9-7 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

New York fell behind 5-1 but battled back and tied the game before Houston responded and held on despite the Yankees late rally.

Gleyber Torres went 3-for-4 with two RBI, including his 18th home run of the season. Harrison Bader drove in two runs, while Jake Bauers, Aaron Judge, and Anthony Volpe also added RBI.

Carlos Rodón gave up five runs and recorded just eight outs before leaving the game with left hamstring tightness. Wandy Peralta gave up four runs in relief.

The Yankees will head to Chicago to begin a three-game series with the White Sox on Monday at 8:10 p.m.
