Mets swept by Orioles, fall 11 games under .500

The New York Mets (50-61) were blanked 2-0 by the Baltimore Orioles (70-42) on Sunday, falling to 11 games under .500 for the first time since 2019. 

New York was held to just four hits, three of which were singles. They went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine on base. 

Jose Quintana gave up both of Baltimore’s runs over six innings while walking two and striking out six. 


Trevor Gott and Adam Ottavino recorded scoreless appearances. 

The Mets will head home to begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday at 7:10 pm.
