The New York State Fair is gearing up for its kickoff on August 23, with Interim Fair Director Sean Hennessey expressing excitement over the return of 90% of the vendors from the previous year.
Despite this high retention rate, some vendors will not be returning, a phenomenon that does not surprise veteran vendors due to cost.
The fair, which will run through September 4, serves as a hub for vendors from various parts of the state, including Buffalo, Rochester, Mohawk Valley, and the north country.
Vendors say pricing structures vary depending on the location within the fairgrounds, with more densely populated areas having a different pricing structure.
