Yankees lose another series to Rays

The New York Yankees (55-52) suffered another series loss after falling 5-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays (66-44) on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

The offense managed just three hits and did not score a run through the first eight innings. However, they strung together three hits and scored two runs in the ninth to avoid the shutout.

Gleyber Torres plated the first run with a two-out double, and DJ LeMahieu added an infield RBI single.

Carlos Rodón gave up four runs over four innings while throwing 97 pitches.

The Yankees will try to avoid the three-game sweep on Wednesday with ace Gerrit Cole on the hill. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
