The New York Mets made another trade, sending outfielder Tommy Pham to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for Minor League infielder Jeremy Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, 17, is hitting .256/.371/.393 with two home runs in 36 games in the rookie Dominican Summer League this season.
Pham, 35, signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Mets this past offseason. He hit .268/.348/.472 with ten home runs and 36 runs batted in over 79 games with New York this season.
Pham is the fifth veteran player the Mets have traded away at the deadline, joining David Robertson, Mark Canha, Max Scherzer, and Justin Verlander.
