Eileen O’Connor, who has diligently served as director of Cayuga County Health Department’s environmental health services division since 1993, is set to retire in August.
The Citizen reports that she was honored with a proclamation recognizing her years of service at a recent county meeting.
O’Connor’s work, notably her involvement in Owasco Lake water quality issues and drafting proposed changes to the watershed’s rules, has earned her a reputation as an “exceptional environmental health director” statewide.
O’Connor’s retirement marks one of several personnel changes at the health department this year.
