Boeheim’s Army overcomes slow start to down Blue Collar U in TBT

Boeheim’s Army (No. 2 seed) started slow but fought back and picked up a 69-54 victory over Blue Collar U (No. 1 seed) in The Basketball Tournament on Friday night at The War Memorial in downtown Syracuse.

Boeheim’s Army had trouble protecting the basketball early on and fell behind by as many as 14 points. However, they stormed back and closed the first half on a 17-4 run to take a one-point lead into the locker room. In the second half, Boeheim’s Army took complete control, thanks to poor three-point shooting from Blue Collar U, and pulled away for the win.

Grant Riller finished in double figures again, scoring a game-high 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting. Chris McCullough netted 10 points, while Jamil Wilson poured in nine and secured 12 rebounds.

BOX SCORE

Boeheim’s Army advances to the Elite 8 in West Virginia on Sunday at 4 p.m., where it will face the winner of Herd That and Sideline Cancer.
