Boeheim’s Army (No. 2 seed) took down The Nerd Team (No. 3 seed), 83-75, in The Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night at The War Memorial in downtown Syracuse.

It was a tight contest for most of the first half, but Boeheim’s Army went on a 17-1 run to take a 46-32 halftime lead. The Nerd Team made things interesting late in the second half as they cut the lead to seven, but Grant Riller, who dropped a game-high 27 points, hit the game-winning free throw to seal the win.

Justin Robinson netted 12 points, while Rakeem Christmas added eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. BJ Johnson chipped in 10 points.

Boeheim’s Army advances to the Regional Final on Friday at 9 p.m., where it will face defending TBT champions Blue Collar U.
