Hornell residents have been invited to a public open house to provide their input on several upcoming revitalization projects.
According to an announcement on the City of Hornell’s Facebook page, the open house will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25 at the Hornell Community Arts Center. The focus will be the Streetscape and Alleyway Improvement Projects, key components of Hornell’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Attendees will have an opportunity to review city plans for the refurbishment of Broadway, Main Street, and Seneca Street.
Representatives from the City of Hornell and LaBella Associates, the firm engaged for these projects, will be present to address questions and gather feedback from attendees. The city will also hold a subsequent meeting specifically for business and building owners likely to be impacted by the revitalization projects.
Hornell’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative was launched in 2019, following a $10 million grant from New York State aimed at upgrading the city’s downtown area. The initiative encompasses 19 different projects, the commencement of which was postponed due to the pandemic.
