Mets lose series to Red Sox

The New York Mets (46-53) suffered a series loss to the Boston Red Sox (53-47) after falling 6-1 at Fenway Park on Sunday Night Baseball.

Once again, New York had trouble limiting Boston’s offense and was outhit 16-6. Carlos Carrasco gave up a career-high ten hits over 2 1/3 innings while allowing five runs.

Francisco Lindor plated the Mets’ lone run with an RBI single. Brandon Nimmo had two of the team’s hits.

The Mets will get the day off Monday before they head to the Bronx to take on the Yankees in the second half of the Subway Series Tuesday. The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
