The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce announced a Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Lakeside Trolley, a new transportation service. The opening celebration, scheduled for Thursday, July 20, 2023, coincides with the Chamber’s Summer Rendezvous event. The event, set to take place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Seneca Lake Events Center at Clute Park in Watkins Glen, will feature the ribbon-cutting at 6:00 PM.
Owners Katrina Gonsorick and Joe Irwin are eager to launch Lakeside Trolley, offering the only hop-on & hop-off trolley service in the area. The trolley route will travel along both sides of Seneca Lake, connecting passengers to local businesses and attractions, including Watkins Glen and the Downtown Visitor Center, as well as locations along The Seneca Lake Wine Trail.
As part of the opening festivities, brief remarks from dignitaries will be delivered, followed by the ribbon-cutting. The event will take place at Lakeside Trolley’s ticket hub located at Horseheads Brewing & Lakeside Eatery in Watkins Glen, a picturesque lakefront location known for its exceptional scenery and sunsets. The public is invited to attend the celebration and explore the trolley during a tour.
