HONOR FLIGHT Rochester, a non-profit dedicated to honoring veterans, recently received a donation of $6,177 from the Ontario County Women’s Republican Club. The funds were raised at a successful fundraising dinner hosted by the Republican Club at the Champion Hills Country Club in Victor, NY, on June 28, 2023. The proceeds will go towards arranging trips for veterans to Washington, D.C., an integral part of HONOR FLIGHT’s mission to connect veterans with each other, honor fallen comrades, and facilitate the sharing of their stories.
Trisha Turner, President of the Ontario County Women’s Republican Club, was grateful for the support from the community, stating that the group felt privileged to raise funds for such an important cause. Turner, accompanied by Victor Town Supervisor Jack Marren and other representatives, presented the check to Steve Wendell, Speaker’s Bureau of HONOR FLIGHT Rochester. The presentation marked a successful collaboration between community groups to support veterans who served during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and critically ill veterans from all service eras.
Steve Wendell expressed his gratitude on behalf of HONOR FLIGHT Rochester, emphasizing the importance of private donations and fundraisers to their operations. Wendell said the generous support from the Rochester community enables them to provide veterans with meaningful experiences. HONOR FLIGHT Rochester extended its thanks to the Ontario County Women’s Republican Club, event attendees, volunteers, and the broader community for their continued support.
