Ontario County is extending an open invitation to community members to contribute to the development of their forthcoming Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A public open house is set to take place on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Finger Lakes Community College, Geneva. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the ongoing planning process and offer their input on County recreational facilities and services.
Public participation is seen as crucial to ensure the Master Plan successfully caters to local needs. Feedback received will directly influence decision-making on the development and management of Ontario County’s seven recreational spaces over the next 10 to 20 years. The county maintains these spaces and strives to offer recreational and educational opportunities to all public members.
In addition to the open house, community members are encouraged to share their thoughts via a public survey available online. The survey addresses key issues like user satisfaction, facility needs, barriers to participation, and public outreach. Queries about the Parks and Recreation Master Plan can be directed to Senior Planner Thomas Lyon at Ontario County.
