Finger Lakes wines will be available in Puerto Rico for first time ever

In a pioneering move, a selection of wines from New York’s Finger Lakes region will be made available in Puerto Rico for the first time, Governor Kathy Hochul’s office announced on Monday. This groundbreaking initiative comes as a result of a partnership among the New York State Office of Trade and Tourism, distributor Serrallés Imports, and the renowned Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery, based in Steuben County.

Known as the most-awarded winery in New York, Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery will export its popular Riesling and Rosé varieties. Meaghan Frank, Vice President of Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery, expressed excitement at the opportunity, highlighting the company’s innovative spirit that dates back to her great-grandfather’s pioneering work with European grape varieties in the eastern United States.

The partnership aims not only to introduce New York wines to Puerto Rico but also to expand the selection of wines and participating wineries in the future. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to broadening its wine industry’s global reach.
