Savannah woman accused of insurance fraud after vehicle destroyed by fire

State police arrested a Wayne County woman after a lengthy investigation into a motor vehicle fire.

Amanda Williams, 23, was charged last week with insurance fraud and conspiracy.

The fraud charge is a felony, deputies said.

Williams is accused of working with other people to collect insurance money for a vehicle that was found destroyed by fire along a trail in the town of Savannah.

The investigation has been ongoing since last year.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
