Livingston County seeking proposals for youth development programming

The Livingston County Office of Workforce Development has released a call for proposals, inviting incorporated agencies to offer services benefitting families and youth in the area. The deadline for submissions is July 28, 2023. The request is part of an initiative backed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, which is providing Youth Development funds aimed at bolstering youth development and preventing juvenile delinquency. The county plans to contract with local 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organizations, with a combined total funding of approximately $60,000.

Applicants need to comply with several prerequisites to be eligible. These include having proper insurance, being in good standing with the New York State Charities Bureau, demonstrating competence in governance, monitoring, and financial stewardship, and possessing a child protection policy compliant with local, agency, and state guidelines. Additionally, applicants should be capable of collecting registration data for participants as required by the Office of Children and Family Services.

The evaluation of proposals will be based on several factors, including the overall quality of the proposal, understanding of youth service, cost of services, and experience in delivering similar programs within New York State. Also significant are the demonstration of adequate resources to provide the proposed services and a proven track record in delivering similar services. An optional Bidders’ Workshop will be held on July 17, 2023, offering additional information and a chance for potential applicants to ask questions. Any queries must be directed to Ryan Snyder, Director of Workforce Development, before 4 p.m. on July 19, 2023.
