Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) has introduced a significant update to their acclaimed program, “See Their Stories”. The platform presents personal narratives from refugees, with the latest addition featuring testimonials from over 1,000 Ukrainian individuals who fled their war-stricken homeland since February 2022. These compelling stories have been encapsulated in a new public service announcement campaign titled “See Their Stories – What is Home?”

“Refugees confront challenges beyond most people’s comprehension,” states Lori VanAuken, CEO of CCFCS. She hopes that sharing these moving stories of Ukrainian refugees will enhance understanding of their plight, underlining the importance of welcoming them and acknowledging their valuable contribution to the community. For over a century, CCFCS has aided people worldwide in resettling in Rochester after escaping war, persecution, and neglect.

The first “See Their Stories” initiative was launched in 2017, aiming to dispel misconceptions about refugees from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The inclusion of the Ukrainian accounts further illuminates the often difficult, yet inspiring journeys these individuals undertake. The project was realized through the generous support from multiple partners, including Sundance Marketing, AdHouse Productions, and Ukrainian Federal Credit Union.
