Walworth man working at liquor store defrauded customers by charging them for his stolen bottles

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Walworth resident following an investigation that began last year.

Between November 2, 2022 and February 17, 2023 Donald Ferrara, 69, is accused of working as a cashier at Walworth Wine and Spirits – charging for mini bottles of alcohol in several transactions.

He would then take the mini bottles of liquor for himself after charging the customers unknowingly. There were 15 victims discovered in the investigation.

The total charged to customers without their knowledge was $27.32.

He was charged with petit larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.
