A bicyclist was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital over the weekend after being hit by a car in Yates County.
First responders say Todd Whitford was traveling north on Italy Hill Road around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday when a child entered the roadway on a bicycle.
The bicycle traveled into the path of the car, and Whitford struck it as result.
The unidentified juvenile was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with back and spine injuries from the force of the accident.
LifeNet, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Yates County Ambulance, and Prattsburgh Fire Department assisted at the scene.
