The New York Mets (36-46) fell to a season-low 10 games under .500 with a 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants (46-36) in the series opener on Friday night at Citi Field.

With New York leading 4-2 in the top of the eighth, David Robertson came on and served up a go-ahead three-run homer and the Mets could not rally in the last two innings.
