Domingo Germán made history and the offense exploded as the New York Yankees (44-36) cruised to an 11-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics (21-61) on Wednesday night at the Oakland Coliseum.
Germán threw the 24th perfect game in Major League history and fourth in Yankees history, joining Don Larsen, David Wells, and David Cone. He retired all 27 batters on 99 pitches, striking out nine.
Giancarlo Stanton crushed his seventh home run of the season and had a two-run single. Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa each drove in a pair of runs while DJ LeMahieu and Kyle Higashioka added RBI.
The Yankees will try to take two of three from the Athletics on Thursday at 3:37 p.m. Clarke Schmidt will take the ball.
