The New York Yankees bullpen has a Major League-best 2.83 ERA this season and it got even better on Wednesday as the club reinstated Ian Hamilton from the 15-day injured list.
Hamilton missed the last six weeks with a groin strain but was one of New York’s best relievers before he got injured.
In 16 appearances (22 innings) this season, Hamilton has posted a 1.23 ERA after making the team out of spring training.
Jhony Brito was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Bare to make room on the roster after allowing a pair of runs over 4 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics.
