Jose Quintana continues to inch closer to making his New York Mets debut.
The veteran left-hander will make his next and likely his final rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse on Friday night against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.
Quintana, 34, signed a two-year, $28 million contract with the Mets in the offseason but has been sidelined since spring training with a fractured rib.
In three rehab appearances thus far, Quintana has a 1.04 ERA and nine strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings.
