Powerball drawing tonight will hit $440 million, per lottery officials

Monday’s Powerball jackpot is set to be approximately $440 million after no tickets matched all six numbers in the previous drawing held on Saturday, June 24. The winning numbers from Saturday’s Powerball game were 2-38-44-50-62, with Powerball 19 and a Power Play of 3x.

The Powerball jackpot was reset to $20 million following an Ohio player’s win of $253 million on April 19. This victory occurred after consecutive Mega Millions jackpots on April 14 and 18. The highest jackpot ever offered in U.S. lottery history was a Powerball prize of $2.04 billion ($997.6 million cash value) won by a player in California on November 7. Prior to this, the record for the world’s largest jackpot for both cash value and annuity was set by the $1.586 billion Powerball drawing on January 13, 2016.

Each game sees an increase in the jackpot until a winning ticket matches all six numbers drawn, which includes the additional Mega Millions Gold Ball or Powerball in each respective game. The combined jackpot of Powerball and Mega Millions exceeded $1.7 billion in January 2021, demonstrating the potential for substantial winnings.
