One rushed to Syracuse hospital after Auburn crash

One person was rushed to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse following a collision with a utility pole Wednesday morning, according to the Auburn Fire Department.

The incident, reported at around 8:21 a.m., occurred in front of Lasca’s Restaurant, 252 Grant Ave.

Two onlookers reportedly pulled the injured man from the vehicle before emergency services arrived on the scene, according to The Citizen.

Assistant Chief Jeff Clark of the Auburn Fire Department noted the vehicle incurred extensive damage from the crash, and the utility pole, having been sheared off, required replacement.

Both Auburn Police Department and the Cayuga County 911 Center aided in the response. Further information regarding the incident is pending.
