Ithaca police have provided an update on an overnight stabbing that happened in the area of Cecil A. Malone Drive.
Around 2:15 a.m. an officer found an unconscious victim who had been stabbed in the upper leg and was bleeding heavily. The officer applied a tourniquet to the victim and called for EMS.
The victim is listed in stable, but critical condition at this time.
“The suspects in this crime are described as a Hispanic male, a white male with tattoos and a beard, two black males who were wearing face masks, and a heavy-set black female,” police said in a news release.
IPD was assisted by several local agencies including the sheriff’s office, Ithaca Fire Department, and Bangs Ambulance.
A firearm was also recovered near the stabbing. It’s unknown if the gun is connected to the stabbing.
