Vote by mail legislation awaits Gov. Hochul’s signature

A bill allowing all New Yorkers to vote by mail in future elections is currently under review at the state level.

Passed in the state Senate and Assembly last week, primarily with Democratic support, this legislation could take effect as early as next year, applying to all statewide elections.

The bill is now awaiting Governor Kathy Hochul’s signature.

If endorsed, New York will join 35 other states that have already implemented similar policies.
